There has been a significant increase in the number of Google + users and a recent report suggests that it has over 62 million users worldwide. The study was done by Allen, the founder of ancestry.com and he says Google plus is adding 625000 new users every day and at this rate Google plus will reach 100 million users by February 25, 2012 and 200 million by August 3. By this time, next year Google plus will have around 300 million users.
But it’s still Facebook who grabs most of the headlines with around 800 million active users world wide. Though Google plus figures show positive signs, they didn’t disclose how many of their 62 million users are active users. Facebook is far beyond its competitors in user engagement as more than 50% of its active users log on to Facebook in any given day and an average user is connected to 80 community pages groups and events. More than 250 million photos are uploaded per day and and an average Facebook user has 130 friends.
